Hi Irish angler
I am a simple soul and you are trying to blind me with science on vids and copies? You even had poor old Jon scratching his head in bewilderment!
I do need some time to tie flies and fish I certainly dont want to get involved in a forum I would not make a good referee.(tongue in cheek).
Carry on keeping me on my toes!
Regards

Hi Brian
Here it is mid winter, the snow just gone(we hope) and you are trying to excite us all with visions of you fly fishing in your bathing trunks! Thanks for your comments, glad we could be of some help. Keep watching once I have managed to settle the affairs of my departed buddy we will get back on site.

Dear David
I keep an eye on your website just to see the developments and I have been known to be running your videos whilst tending to the vice on the adjacent table as I run through the step by step instructions.
Having tied some of your Daddy Long Legs patterns I found them to be extremely useful on holiday in the South of France last summer where I managed to take several chub off the surface of the water whilst fishing waist deep in my swimming trunks and straw hat on the Ardeche (not a pretty sight - me that is !). A great website - I'll keep visiting!

Dave Being new to fly tying i found that using a crochet hook (fine) was very helpful in doing the legs, they pulled the ends through with no trouble.

Hello Golly:
maybe I have the advantage of be borned in the middle of last two fly fisheman generations.
Ofcourse that natural materials are good for fly tying, but there is a new hole world ready to be explored related to modern and synthetic materials.
I would like to try the horse hair, my wifes Yorkshire too, ofcourse.
Put an eye on old tiers, but the other one to the future...... is coming.
Greetings from Yucatan , Mexico.

I like to use horse hair (chestnut)for Daddies as they have proven to be more durable than P.T.,especially when tying quite small patterns.
At the last Newark Fly Fishing Show,I commented on this to a well-known author of fly tying books and asked if he had experienced similar success. He replied to the effect that he only used materials which he considered attractive to the fish
and had no time for trying alternative substitutes.
If his comments were meant to chasten me,then he nearly succeeded. However, when he suggested that I buy one of his books I suggested where he could put it.
The more I see of these old die-hards,the more I want to listen to some of the younger generation of fishermen
