<description>Hi flytyer0207. Try Lathkill.com they do a Veniard full rotary vice for £29.50. It is clamp not pedestal but it will last you at least 2 or 3 years of tying. Its excellent for the money and the rotary facility is very good or bearded hackles etc. I use one and i got mine from lathkill and i am very happy with it. If you want a much better vice i am afraid you have to pay much more than £45.</description>

		<description>Hi Flytyero2o7
Getting a vice on a pedestal at £45 might be difficult.
I have misplaced my cat. for Carrilon but I think they might be able to help.
www.carrilon.com/ ask for a copy of cat. They are a reliable outfit.
Hope this helps

		<description>Hi David,

I watch your YouTube videos all the time to help me with my fly tying and they help a lot. I started tying flies at the start of the Summer, and I enjoy it so much! I got given a hand-me-down vice from an old friend, which has now decided to beecome stiff and jammed. I am on the hunt for a new vice and aim to pay a maximum of £45. I want a pedestal vice rather than a clamp vice. Do you know the best brands and vices I should go for?

Thank you for your help - and good luck with other flies!!!

		<description>Hi David.Love your site.
Interesting to see you tying the egg fly.
I cheat and buy &quot;pom pom&quot; balls from tesco at 99p a packet in the kids creative section.Just push the hook through one of the pom poms after adding a bit of lead as weight then tie off with thread at either end, just catching the fluff of the pom pom.
It&#039;s a lot simpler and far quicker.Green ones fished with an indicator about a foot down are lethal on our local stillwater!

		<description>Hi Dave,

A little advice if you may, i am look to buy some good hackle feathers for flies size 10-18 not ready for smaller yet, I read somehwere there is not much differance between grade 1 &amp; 2 but 3 was not always good. but what grade would you advice? and what would be best for my hook sizes? saddles or necks? Standard or Micro Barb?

This is the site i was looking at... http://www.fly-fishing-tackle.co.uk/acatalog/Metz_Cock.html

It is so confusing on which ones to get as i dont fully understand the differances. and when to apply what feathers, my fly&#039;s look ok but nothing like shop grade ones, as my hackles always let me down. ether they break, or they are not stiff enough or just dont have good texture arround the hook. (they are not easy to wind through.)

Thanks again

		<description>Hi Jim
Thanks for your comments. Good to know we were able to help. It can be a big bonus if your wife can tie flies.........it will give you more time to fish. Well done Mrs Brown , 8 fish in a session cant be bad.I can only suggest you use the macaw tail feather instead of the pheasant . You never know what they take our creations for.
Happy Fishing Both
